Prototyping phase

This birdfeeder is an exploration of simplicity, seasonal rhythm and smart manufacturability. The design starts from a single flat sheet of metal that transforms into a sturdy, functional object through folding and bending. A clean visual language, with a surprising amount of flexibility in use.

The system is designed to move with the seasons. In winter it becomes a robust feeder with a removable tray that is easy to refill and clean. In summer, that same tray can shift into a bird bath. Rather than a fixed product, it becomes an adaptable element in the outdoor environment.

Installation is equally modular. The birdfeeder can be mounted to a wall or a tree, using a ratchet strap for quick, solid and low friction placement. Small integrated hooks provide space for extras such as bird suet balls, without adding visual clutter.

Because the product is formed from one piece, the project also explores a flat pack approach. In that scenario the birdfeeder can be shipped compactly and folded into its final shape by the user. Material and finish are central to the identity. The first editions focus on Corten steel and stainless steel, with room for variations in color, surface treatment and subtle branding, such as an integrated logo.
